This specimen was lot 3475 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 100,000 CHF (about US$123,804 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"UNGARN Leopold I. 1657-1705. 10 Dukaten 1688, Kremnitz. LEOPOLDVS (Madonna) ·D·G·RO·I·S·AVG·GER· (Wappen) HV·BO·REX· Drapierte, geharnischte Büste mit langer Perücke und Lorbeerkranz rechts. Auf der Brust der Orden des Goldenen Vlies. Interpunktion Rauten. Rv. ·ARCHIDVX·AVS·DVX·BVR·MAR· MOR·CO·TY· 16 - 88 Gekrönter Doppeladler, auf der Brust das gekrönte Wappen Ungarn/Böhmen mit Mittelschild. In den Krallen Schwert und Zepter. Im Feld K - B. Interpunktion Rauten. Sehr selten. Min. Rdf. Vorzüglich-fast FDC. Ex Auktion UBS 71, September 2007, Lot 80. (Hungary, Leopold I, 1657-1705, 1658-1705, ten ducats of 1688, Kremnitz mint. Obverse: draped, armored, peruked and laureate bust to right, wearing the Order of the Golden Fleece; reverse: crowned doubleheaded eagle, with crowned arms of Hungary and Bohemia on its breast, sword and scepter in its claws, mintmark in the field. Very rare, slightly weak rims, extremely fine to uncirculated. From UBS auction 71, lot 80 (September 2007).)"
The SCWC lists this rare type for 1687 only. In 1683 the Turks besieged Vienna; the siege failed and by 1700 the Austrians had conquered the whole of Hungary and Transylvania.
