Künker sale 406, lot 3826

This specimen was lot 3826 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$3,936 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold I. 1657-1705. Dukat 1688, KB, Kremnitz. GOLD. Fast vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold I, 1657-1605, ducat of 1688, Kremnitz mint. About extremely fine.)"

This type is noted in the SCWC for 1658-1704. It was during this period that the Turks were expelled from Hungary by the Hapsburgs.
