Sincona sale 34, lot 4126

This specimen was lot 4126 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 38,000 CHF (about US$45,108 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Matthias, 1612-1619 Doppeltaler 1611. Prag Münzmeister Benedikt Huebmer. Äusserst selten. Fast vorzüglich. Schöne Tönung. (Holy Roman Empire, Matthias, 1612-19, double thaler of 1611, Prague mint, mintmaster Benedikt Huebmer. Extremely rare, About extremely fine, handsome toning.)"

This product of the Prague mint is rare. A single thaler version (Dav-3057) exists.
