Sincona sale 34, lot 4127

This specimen was lot 4127 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 38,000 CHF (about US$45,108 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Matthias, 1612-1619 Doppeltaler 1616. Prag Münzmeister Benedikt Huebmer. Äusserst selten. Sehr schön. Alte Tönung. Leichte Schrötlingsmängel. (Holy Roman Empire, Matthias, 1612-19, double thaler of 1616, Prague mint, mintmaster Benedikt Huebmer. Extremely rare, Very fine, old toning, slightly weak dies.)"

This product of the Prague mint is noted for 1615-19 and is rare.
