This specimen was lot 56 in Sincona sale 88 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$363 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Hotak Dynasty, Taimur Shah, as Sultan, 1186-1207 AH (1772-1793). Rupi 1200 AH (1786), Mashhad Mint. Selten, Sehr schön-vorzüglich, Leicht gereinigt; Rare. Very fine-extremely fine. Lightly cleaned. Purchased from M. Saffar, London, in 1999."
Taimur Shah, second ruler of the Durranis, is listed in the SCWC under Afghanistan. Mashhad, the capital of the northeastern province of Khorasan, served as a buffer between the Zands in Iran and the Durranis in Afghanistan. This type is listed for AH 119x and AH 1201-1207 but not AH 1200.
