This specimen was lot 2185 in Goldberg's NY International sale 59 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $96. The catalog description[1] noted, "2 Kopecks 1879 CПБ. Authenticated and graded by NGC MS 62 BN (# 4829888-026). Choice uncirculated." This type was struck 1867-1914 in large quantities at St. Petersburg. Ekaterinburg, the last branch mint, closed in 1876.
Recorded mintage: 7,380,000.
