This specimen was lot 2123 in Sincona sale 87 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 375 CHF (about US$505 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"CHINA, 50 Yuan 1986, Shanghai Mint. 120. Geburtstag von Sun Yat-sen. 5 Unzen Feinsilber, Polierte Platte, Im Originaletui mit Zertifikat. 120th birthday of Sun Yat-sen, five ounce silver, Proof. In original box with certificate."

The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. Another fifty yuan of 1986 is KM 134 (½ oz gold panda).

Recorded mintage: 3,000.

Specification: 155.5 g, 0.999 fine silver, 70 mm diameter.
