This specimen was lot 1354 in Goldberg Sale 139 (Los Angeles, June 2024), where it sold for $2,280. The catalog description[1] noted, "Singapore. 250 Dollars, 1996. Lunar series. Year of the Rat. Arms with supporters. Reverse: Stylized rat within designs. Pop 13; 15 in PF70Ucam. NGC graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo. Ex Goldberg Sale 44, Feb 10, 2008, lot 4171. The Peh Collection Part II." The colony of Hong Kong was the first to produce and market NCLT's themed to the Chinese zodiac. These proving popular, other countries followed suit, including Singapore, which issued this for the Year of the Rat.

Recorded mintage: 7,500.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold, 1.000 troy oz AGW.
