Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale, lot 73165

This specimen was lot 73165 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted, "SINGAPORE. 50 Dollars, 2000-SM. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. Zodiac Series, Dragon. A RARE and vibrant specimen, this gold issue offers a great deal of brilliance across its flawless surfaces." This is a continuation of a series of bullion coins. The only reference to the zodiacal year is the symbol buried in the hologram below the lion's head.

Recorded mintage: 200 + 388 proofs.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold, 32.12 mm diameter, 1.000 troy oz AGW.
