This specimen was lot 35108 in Heritage sale 3094 (Chicago, August 2021), where it sold for $2,100. The catalog description[1] noted, "Singapore: Republic gold Proof 50 Dollars (1 oz) 1996 PR68 Deep Cameo PCGS, Singapore mint. Fully frosted and nearly flawlessly preserved." This bullion NCLT honors the Chinese lunar calendar. The privy mark under the lion's head was changed annually. The series began in 1990 and extended thru at least 2002.
Recorded mintage: 1,013 + 1,608 proofs.
Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold, 32.12 mm diameter, 1.000 troy oz AGW.
