Stack's Bowers 2023 NYINC sale, lot 43065

This specimen was lot 43065 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. West Friesland. 3 Gulden, 1795. Enkhuizen Mint. PCGS MS-63. 'BELG:WESTF' on legend." This type was struck without mintmark 1714, 1776, 1781, 1785-86, 1791-94 for the United Provinces and 1795-96 for the Batavian Republic. Its face value was 60 stuivers. The later dates are common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 31.82 g, 0.920 fine silver, 39 mm diameter.
