The first specimen was lot 3756 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $54. The catalog description[1] noted, "MAURITIUS: George V, 1910-1936, AE cent, 1922, NGC graded MS64 BR." The second specimen was lot 72186 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[2] noted, "MAURITIUS. Cent, 1922. London Mint. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown Gold Shield. A boldly struck and lustrous Cent with abundant mint red remaining and a few die cracks on the obverse." This type was struck 1911-12, 1917, 1920-24 in modest numbers and the 1922 is the only common date. It accompanied a bronze two cents and five cents.
