This specimen was lot 72185 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "MAURITIUS. Cent, 1920. London Mint. PCGS MS-64 Red Gold Shield. An attractive example of the type with full cartwheel luster and blazing mint red." This type was struck 1911-12, 1917, 1920-24 in modest numbers. It accompanied a bronze five cents and two cents. Silver quarter, half and one rupees were struck for George V but not until 1934.

Recorded mintage: 500,000.
