from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 11318

This specimen was lot 11318 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €85 (about US$89). The catalog description^[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 4 Öre, 1669. Stockholm Mint. Karl XI. NGC VF-35. Variation with mintmark in obverse legend at 6 o'clock. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1667-84 and 1716-18 in substantial quantities. It is common in worn condition. Eight öre made a mark and six mark made a riksdaler.

Recorded mintage: 1,023,000.

Specifications: 2.92 g, 0.375 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, this specimen 3.20 g.
