This specimen was lot 31764 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Carl XI 4 Ore 1668, AU55 NGC. Well-struck details with virtually no wear evident, the surfaces are toned with some underlying luster. Very scarce grade for this early series. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman/B.G. Johnson." This type of 1667-84 is common in circulated condition but is the last of its denomination, being superseded in 1690 by a billon five öre (KM 310). Eight öre made a mark.
