This specimen was lot 982 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "UKRAINE: Republic, AV 10 hryvni, 2001, Rebirth of Ukrainian Statehood Series - 10th Anniversary of Ukrainian Independence, struck at the Ukrainian mint, Kyiv, Proof. The coin is dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the Independence Act adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on August 24, 1991." The hryvnia was introduced in 1996 to supersede the Karbovanets (1 hryvnia = 100,000 karbovantsiv). Its sign is "₴". At present (June 2026), US$1 = 45.07 hryven. Other NCLT's of this denomination included KM 113, KM 114, KM 115, KM 130, KM 131, KM 141, KM 142, KM 165 but this was the only one struck in gold.
Recorded mintage: 3,000 proofs.
Specifications: 4.31 g, 0.900 fine gold, 16 mm diameter, plain edge.
