This specimen was lot 2097 in Jean Elsen sale 83 (Brussels, March 2005), where it sold for 130 euro. In the coinage system of the ancien régime, the vingtième d'écu = 6 sols. The type was struck 1740-69 but is recorded for the Paris mint ("A") in 1740-50, 1752-56, 1758-61 and 1765-66 only. Despite the interrupted dates of issue, Paris was the most faithful issuer of this denomination.
