Steve Album Auction 52, lot 1820

This specimen was lot 1820 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Selim III, 1789-1807, AR 10 para, Islambul, AH1203 year 5 (1793), a wonderful lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS64. Part of a small group of 38 coins of this accessional date and regnal year purchased by Maj. Fred S. Pridmore in Cyprus in the 1960s." This type was struck years 1-19. Forty para made a kuruş.
