This specimen was lot 31154 in Heritage auction 3096 (Dallas, TX, March 2021), where it sold for $2,520. The catalog description[1] noted, "Portugal: Republic gold Proof "Espingarda" 200 Escudos 1993-INCM PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC. Commemorating the Portuguese introduction of espingarda to the Japanese in the 16th century, this coin aptly depicts a cavalry rifleman with a flawless strike and fresh surfaces. From the Paramount Collection." This is one of many NCLT's issued to celebrate the glories of Portugal's past. It was issued in copper-nickel, silver, gold and platinum.

Recorded mintage: 1,000,000 in copper-nickel, 20,000 in silver (plus 30,000 silver proofs), 7,000 in gold and 2,000 in platinum.
