This specimen was lot 21753 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $1,035. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 200 Escudos 1994, Proof 67 Ultra Cameo NGC, commemorating Henry the Navigator, 1394-1994." This NCLT was also issued in copper-nickel and silver.
Recorded mintage: 750,000 in copper-nickel, 20,000 in silver, 13,000 silver proofs and 2,000 in gold.
Specification: 27.2 g, 0.917 fine gold, .801 troy oz AGW.
