This specimen was lot 6534 in CNG Triton XXIX (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $7,350. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY, Holy Roman Empire. Lipót I. 1657-1705. AV Dukat. Nagyszeben (Sibiu/Hermannstadt) mint. Dated 1667/1 NB. Lipót standing right, holding scepter and globus cruciger / Madonna seated facing, holding scepter and infant Christ; all within glory of rays; crowned coat-of-arms below. Holed. Near EF. Rare." This rare type is listed for 1661, 1667 and 1671. The Kremnitz issue (Fr-128) is comparatively common. It was during Leopold's reign that Hungary was reconquered from the Turks.
