Sincona sale 91, lot 3682

This specimen was lot 3682 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$3,964 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Dukat 1734, Zürich. Selten. Fast FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, ducat of 1734, Zürich mint. Rare, About uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1718-67 along with a quarter (Fr-488a), half (Fr-487a) and double ducat (Fr-485a).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.44 g.
