Sincona sale 102, lot 5669

This specimen was lot 5669 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 1,300 CHF (about US$1,959 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Zürich. Stadt und Kanton. Dukat 1736, Zürich. Sehr selten. Gewellt. Kratzer. Scratches. Fast vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, ducat of 1736, Zürich mint. Very rare, Wavy flan, About Extremely Fine.)"

This type was struck 1718-67 along with a quarter (Fr-488a), half (Fr-487a) and double ducat (Fr-485a).

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.45 g.
