The first specimen was lot 4163 in Sincona sale 6 (Zürich, May 2012), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,461 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE Carlos IV. 1788-1808. 2 Escudos 1802. Assayer JJ. Extremely rare. Almost very fine-very fine. Ex Auction UBS 56, Basel, 28. 1. 2003. Lot 3320."
