This specimen was lot 1944 in Sedwick Auction 36 (Winter Park, FL, November 2024), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE, Santiago, bust 2 reales, Charles IV, 1802 JJ. Fine with slight bend in planchet, some surface marks, dark gray-toned fields around the legends." This specimen is one of a type struck at Santiago 1792-1808. While scarce, the SCWC notes it as among the more available dates. An overassayer, JJ/AJ, is reported for the year.

Recorded mintage: 28,000.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.875 fine gold, this specimen 6.48 grams.
