This specimen was lot 30292 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $205.63. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "BOLIVIA. 2 Reales, 1694-PVR. Charles II (1665-1700). NGC AU Details--Scratches. Three partial dates. Attractively toned. Several very small scratches. From the Demarete Collection." This type was struck 1667-1701 for Charles II. It superseded the shield/cross type which was discredited in the debasement scandal of the 1630's and 1640's.
