Stack's Bowers 2025 ANA sale, lot 42105
SB825-42105r.jpg

This specimen was lot 42105 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Cent, 1940. Ottawa Mint. George VI. PCGS SPECIMEN-66 Red Brown. A lovely and alluring Specimen, delivering handsome touches of mint red, with appealing details, and a bold strike quality." This type was struck 1937-47 and this is a common date tho the SCWC does not mention any proofs or specimens for the year. The maple leaf reverse was used until cents were discontinued in 2014.

Recorded mintage: 85,740,532.

Specification: 3.24 g, bronze, 19.05 mm diameter, plain edge.

Catalog reference: KM 32.
