Shown is a 1732-BB ''vingtième d'écu aux branches d'olivier'' of the Strasbourg mint (mintmark "BB"). This coin was part of the great coinage reform of Cardinal Fleury which finally terminated the manipulations which had disrupted the economy since the 1690's. Many more dates are known than are listed in the SCWC, which lists only 1727, 1729 and 1730 for the Strasbourg mint while Droulers[1] adds 1728, 1731 1732 and 1734. The twentieth écu was the ancien régime version of a half dime tho never struck in sufficient numbers to really convert France to a decimal currency.
