This specimen was lot 1676 in Jean Elsen sale 117 (Brussels, June 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, Christian Ier (1586-1591), AR Taler, 1589 HB, Dresde. Droit: B. cuirassé à droite, tenant un heaume et une épée sur l'épaule. Revers: Ecu sous trois heaumes. Très Beau. (Germany, Saxony, Christian I (1586-91), silver thaler of 1589, Dresden mint. Obverse: armored bust to right, bearing a helmet and sword; reverse: arms below three helmets. Very fine.)"

Saxony, one of the larger divisions of Germany and blessed with numerous silver mines, issued large numbers of thalers. This type was struck at Dresden 1586-91 and is common.
