This specimen was lot 55760 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. Taler, 1591-HB. Dresden Mint. Christian I. NGC AU-58. From the Augustana Collection." This type was struck at Dresden 1586-91 and is common. Christian died in 1591 and was succeeded by his three sons, Christian II, John George I and August.
