The first specimen was lot 288 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 228 euro (about US$362 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1740/30. México. MF. 8 reales. Columnario. Pátina. EBC-/MBC+. (eight reales of 1740/30, Mexico City mint, pillar type. Toned, about extremely fine.)"
