This specimen was lot 33031 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. Silver 10 Dollars Piefort, 1992. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. An attractive issue with a technically perfect strike." This is the piefort version of KM 199. Other ten dollar issues for 1992 include KM 161, KM 177, KM 180 and KM 188. While fairy penguins (Eudyptula novaehollandiae) are native to Australia, the emperor penguins depicted here are found only in Antarctica.
