This specimen was lot 22124 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $399.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 10 Dollars, 1993-P. NGC PROOF-69 ULTRA CAMEO. Kookaburra series, Eagle. Mintage of only 500 pieces." This monstrous object is a natural marketing extension of the silver one ounce kookaburra, introduced in 1990 (KM 189). Australia also issues a parallel series of one ounce coins featuring kangaroos.
