This specimen was lot 25286 in Heritage sale 61487 (Dallas, TX, May 2025), where it sold for $2,250. The catalog description[1] noted, "Peru. Republic gold Escudo 1829 LM-JM AU55 NGC, Lima mint. A date and denomination exclusively witnessed at the lower end of the grading scale, with those few seen in recent decades well-handled VFs. While diminutive, the piece on offer packs a punch as the sole finest of an already scarce date, showcasing ample remnant detail and appreciable appearances. Accompanied by the original collector envelope. From the Monedero Collection of Peru and Latin American Coins." This is from a type struck at Lima 1826-33. Cuzco also minted this type in 1826 and 1830.
