Sincona sale 64, lot 3519

This specimen was lot 3519 in Sincona sale 64 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$501 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Schwyz | misc, 2/3 Batzen 1811, Aarau. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-FDC. Feine Patina. (canton of Schwyz, two-thirds batzen of 1811, Aarau mint. Rare in this condition, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Nicely toned.)"

This odd denomination was struck 1810-11. We don't see this denomination for any other canton. Ten rappen made a batzen.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: billon, this specimen 1.80 g.

Catalog reference: KM 56, D.T. 83b, HMZ 2-809c.
