This specimen was lot 1449 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $630. The catalog description[1] noted, "Iran. 1 Pahlevi, SH1339 (1960). Mohammad Reza Pahlevi. Pop 1; none finer at PCGS. PCGS graded MS-66." This type was struck SH 1330-1353 and is common. It has the same amount of gold as the British sovereign. Gold half, , five and ten pahlavis also exist.

Recorded mintage: 847,000.

Specification: 8.136 g, 0.900 fine gold, .2354 troy oz AGW.
