This specimen was lot 2661 in Stephen Album sale 41 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2021), where it sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Muhammad Reza Shah, 1941-1979, AV pahlavi, SH1338, incorrectly dated SH1337 on the slab (most dates are common), NGC graded MS67." This type, struck SH 1330-1353 during the reign of Muhammed Reza Shah (r. 1941-79), was minted to the standard of a British sovereign. It has slightly lower relief than the prior type (KM 1150) which had persistent striking weakness. The coins generally trade as bullion.
