This specimen was lot 75191 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 1/4 Pahlavi, SH 1338 (1959). Tehran Mint. Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. NGC MS-66. An impressive Premium Gem, delivering rich luster and much allure." This type, struck SH 1336-1352 during the reign of Muhammed Reza Shah (r. 1941-79), was minted to the standard of a British quarter sovereign. The diameter was increased from 14 mm to 16 mm in SH 1356. The coins generally trade as bullion.
