This specimen was lot 25524 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $3,671.88. The catalog description[1] noted, "Oscar I Speciedaler 1855, MS61 NGC. Lightly toned with no marks of individual distinction atop the surfaces. Very scarce at the Mint State tier." This type, recorded for 1846-57, is now scarce. It was struck to the Danish standard ([[Denmark 1848-VS speciedaler Dav-75|Dav-75]]) rather than the larger Swedish riksdaler ([[Sweden 1862-ST LA riksdaler specie Dav-356|Dav-356]]).
