The florin superseded the old half thaler and was struck 1857-92 with various busts of Franz Josef. This date is common but the reported mintage seems outsize.

Recorded mintage: 37,485,342.

Specification: 12.34 g, 0.900 fine silver, .357 troy oz AGW, 29.2 mm diameter.
