This specimen was lot 1274 in Stephen Album sale 45 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2023), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Nasir al-Din Shah, 1848-1896, AV toman, Tehran, AH1308, blundered date, but clearly intended for 1308, NGC graded AU55, R." This gold coin struck AH 1297-1313 plus various bungled dates. With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran.
