Sincona sale 9, lot 3964

This specimen was lot 3964 in Sincona sale 9 (Zurich, October 2012), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$632 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Lübeck, Hansestadt Münzstätte Berlin 5 Mark 1904. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (Free city of Lubeck, five mark of 1904, Berlin mint, extremely fine to choice extremely fine.)"

This type was struck intermittently 1904-1913. It is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 10,000 plus 200 proofs.

Specification: 27.77 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter.
