Morton & Eden sale 104, lot 506

This specimen was lot 506 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it sold for £150 (about US$232 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic, 8 reales, Oaxaca mint, 1892 EN, light adjustment marks, nearly as struck, well toned." The Oaxaca mint struck eight reales 1858-93 and the series is replete with rare dates but the SCWC lists this date as common.

Recorded mintage: 120,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.785 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM 377.11, DP-Oa37.
