Sincona sale 46, lot 58

This specimen was lot 58 in Sincona sale 46 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,440 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Karl Theodor, 1777-1799. Dukat 1778, München. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Electorate of Bavaria, Charles Theodore, 1777-99, ducat of 1778, Munich mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

The Elector of Bavaria issued this ducat 1778-93 but despite the many years of production it is rare.

Catalog reference: Hahn 349, KM 568, Fr-255.
