Sincona sale 46, lot 58

This specimen was lot 58 in Sincona sale 46 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,440 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Karl Theodor, 1777-1799. Dukat 1778, München. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Electorate of Bavaria, Charles Theodore, 1777-99, ducat of 1778, Munich mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

The Elector of Bavaria issued this ducat 1778-93 but despite the many years of production it is rare.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.48 g.
