India 1906-B rupee

from the Stack's Bowers 2020 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71077

This specimen was lot 71077 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $144. The catalog description^[1] noted, "INDIA. Rupee, 1906-B. Bombay Mint. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. A striking example with full silvery mint brilliance. A positive addition to any collection." The rupees of Edward VII were struck 1903-10 and most dates are common. Proofs are rare. The Calcutta mint contributed another 104,797,000.
