This specimen was lot 1418 in Ponterio sale 173 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $2,232. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/2 Rupee, 1910. Bombay Mint. PCGS PROOF-65. Dark attractive multicolor toning. Ex: Sanjay Gandhi." The half rupees of Edward VII were struck 1904-10 and most dates are common. Proofs are rare. The Calcutta mint contributed another 3,413,000.

Recorded mintage: 809,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 5.83 g, .917 silver, .171 troy oz ASW.
