The specimen shown is a steel five pesos of the new circulating type. This piece has a face value (October 2018) of about nine cents and was first issued in 2018. The obverse portrait is of Andres Bonifacio. The design was revised in 2019 to give it a nonagonal shape but the weight was unchanged.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 7.4 g, nickel plated steel, 25 mm diameter.
