This specimen was part of lot 32704 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), which sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles III Trio of 4 Reales 1776 1780 1783, KM35. Nueva Guatemala mint. Average grade is Fine." This type is listed for 1777-85 and was struck after the mint was moved from Antigua Guatemala to Nueva Guatemala as the result of an earthquake.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.

Specification: 13.54 g, .903 fine silver.
