Sincona sale 81, lot 6214

This specimen was lot 6214 in Sincona sale 81 (Zurich, October 2022), where it sold for 1,100 CHF (about US$1,319 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND | Zurich | Stadt und Kanton, Dukat 1753, Zürich. Very fine." This type was struck 1718-61, 1767. Despite the many years of issue, it is still expensive. In 1798, the canton of Zurich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.
